November 2022 │ Grace Brewer

This month we get to know WDC DG Alumnae Chapter member Grace Brewer! Grace is an initiate of the Delta Iota-Georgia chapter and has been a DG since 2018. She is an IRTA Post-baccalaureate Fellow at The National Institutes of Health and serves as our chapter's VP Membership!

  • What is your favorite SIG or DG Event? It would have to be the Champagne Brunch as that was my first event with the alumnae chapter!
  • How have the skills and experiences you had as a collegiate and alumnae DG helped you professionally? The organization and time management skills that I learned when serving my collegiate chapter have set me apart and allowed me to be more confident when leading groups in my personal life and planning projects for work.
  • What professional achievements are you most proud of? One of my career goals was to work at NIH, so I am ecstatic to complete a research fellowship there before continuing to graduate school.
  • Do you have a founder that you resonate with most? I resonate more with all of the founders as a whole. Anna, Mary, and Eva started the chapter to foster high ideals of friendship and I strive to always put quality time into friendships.
  • Do you have a favorite community service activity or organization you work with? I played in a Volo Kickball League soon after moving to DC which supports the Volo Kids Foundation. I think it would be fun to get a league of alum together for one!
  • Do you have a favorite place or trip? My favorite place to travel is Italy, I even took Italian in college to learn some of the language!
  • Any advice you would like to give to sisters (related to DG, professional, personal, or living in DC): Get Involved! I just moved to DC and joined this alumni chapter, but being involved in my collegiate chapter made the biggest difference in my connection to it, so I knew I wanted to carry that over as an alum.
